The ride from CT includes a $7.50 toll - and the return includes a $7.50 + $1.70 toll - so don't leave broke! The roads are being worked on to and from so the ride is a bit bumpy. They do not offer free drinks on the gambling floor as the CT casinos do ($2.50 / each for beer), but cheaper than the bar which was $6.00 / beer. It is non-smoking casino, but there is easy access to outdoor smoking that overlooks the racetrack (even got to the see the finish of a horse race). Two steak and lobster dinners, three glasses of wine, with salad and side of mashed potatoes - over $200, so our tip alone was $40.00. The dinner was truly excellent and cooked to perfection, but was a bit pricey and probably would not eat there without comp. Decent restaurants (we dined at the steak house with comp that was mailed to us). The casino was larger than expected and very clean. A nice venue for a day out - and not a long ride from the New Haven, CT area.
